Tranny Head is gonna be so jealous...

If you can't read the image, it says that it's 87% likely that this blog is written by a man.Hat tip to E.McPan, who is only 55% likely to be a man.Check yourself. I checked three other blogs on my blogroll, all written by women. Two it correctly identified, and it called the third 'gender neutral' at 52% male.

Geeking

Posted on November 19, 2008
Yes, I read some webcomics. I read xkcd even though, at least occasionally, the sciencey mathy ones are over my head. This leads to a Wikipedia search and education. Education is good, right?I should probably stop here. I also read a webcomic about indie kids who occasionally go off on music tirades to which I cannot relate in the slightest ...

Overheard in law school

"It is a pre-existing non-conforming dog."_____________________Context ruins everything. Long story short: A condo complex changed the rules regarding pets . . . I don't have the case cite in front of me.

It doesn't matter what I saySo long as I sing with inflectionThat makes you feel that I'll conveySome inner truth of vast reflectionBut I've said nothing so farAnd I can keep it up for as long as it takesAnd it don't matter who you areIf I'm doing my job then it's your resolve that breaks* * *There is something amissI am being insincereIn fact I dont mean any of thisStill my confession draws you near"Hook" Blues Traveller_________________________________________Really? Open .:cough:. letter to my classmates

Posted on November 13, 2008
Dear everyone,.:cough:.I know that I am extremely annoying to have in class these days . . . ok, more so than usual. It started off as a polite, quiet, occasional, dry hacking sound. The last day or so it sounds more like a walrus with pneumonia. I would leave class every time a small fit erupts, but I would miss class altogether, and you know what our draconian attendance policy is like...

Behavior modification

Clownfish began laying down the law a few months ago at bed time.Nightly, he would tell me some variation of this list:Turn on TV very softly.Just watch one show and then go to bed. When you go to bed tiptoe so I don't hear you.Just do a little work in the kitchen before bed...

Class selection

Posted on November 11, 2008
It is my 3L spring: last chance. I am committed to taking a four credit tax class (hard), an three credit class with a terrific professor I have not had the opportunity to learn from yet (heard he's lots of work though), and trial practice. That's nine credits...

. . . I really might be one of those fails the MPRE the first time she takes it.Ummm. Yeah. Cuz it wasn't pretty.Allow me to pre-empt the comments:"No, you didn't." "It's fine. Everyone feels that way.""You're being a drama queen.""When I took it I totally thought I failed but I didn't...

I am older than I once was, and younger than I'll be, that's not unusual. No it isn't strange, after changes upon changes, we are more or less the same. After changes we are more or less the same.~The Boxer, Simon and Garfunkel___________________________(This is in my head today...

Things I am learning for the MPRE this Saturday:

Posted on November 07, 2008
Client consent cannot shield an incompetent attorney. Confidences and secrets are different things. Apparently its ok to spill one of them.I am taking the exam in a state that requires me to be really ethical... like "85" ethical. If a client leaves heroin in your office after telling you its anxiety medicine, you can totally tell the cops its his heroin when you're arrested for "knowingly possessing heroin...

Thoughts on Gay Marriage I

Posted on November 06, 2008
***This could be a really long post--and I don't like to write really long posts. So I am going to break it up over several posts, and intersperse other topics in between.*** In the 1990's, when I was in teacher training, the buzz word was tolerance. Teaching tolerance was a huge movement in education...

Serious thoughts on the election...

Posted on November 04, 2008
. . . will never be found on this blog.Saturday Night Live hasn't been funny for a long time. But every few elections, they really do a good job skewering the candidates. I'll never forget Bush v. Gore and the lockbox. Lockbox. It was a good idea and good policy...

I don't have time to engage in the mommy wars because I am too busy questioning my own choices to judge yours

Posted on October 30, 2008
I am still working on figuring out who I am and what I want. Going to law school was an enormous step for me -- I quit a career and an identity that had defined me for the better part of a decade because I was not enjoying it. It was not what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be...

Ack!

Posted on October 28, 2008
I have to choose classes this week for my final semester of law school. For many people, this is probably a happy occasion. For me, it means I have one last semester to enjoy being a student.... and I am that much closer to graduating... and the Barzam...

Charlie Brown III: Lucy is a heinous b*tch

Posted on October 28, 2008
This job was a clerkship.I didn't get it.I'm kinda over it at this point, but I did promise to follow up on my Charlie Brown arc. So there it is. Lucy pulled the football again, and I'm lying on my back in the autumn leaves. And like him, I'll pick myself up and try it again at the next opportunity...
