: ButterflyfishClass selection
I am committed to taking a four credit tax class (hard), an three credit class with a terrific professor I have not had the opportunity to learn from yet (heard he's lots of work though), and trial practice. That's nine credits. And I have two law review credits. So I really only need a two credit class to graduate. But I've never been known to take it easy, so...
I have a choice: Take a 4 credit UCC class or do an externship.
I did an externship last spring, and it required much more time than advertised, which was in part responsible for my Labor Law grade. But, I learned a whole lot more about practicing law through my externship than I have ever learned in class. And I think more experience would be helpful to me. And I have wanted to do a public interest externship with a particular agency since I started law school, though at this late date I might not get my preferred placement.
On the other hand, I did not learn contract law very well first year--my school offered a mock partial bar exam a few weeks ago, the contracts questions were disastrous. Maybe taking UCC will help some of that? I dunno.
Other option if the externship doesn't work out: get a paid part time gig doing something legal.
