The Open Toed Shoe Pledge
Posted on April 23, 2009As a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when wearing sandals and other open-toe shoes:I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps...
Office Space
Posted on April 22, 2009I live this movie...promise.Back story is that we ran some ads in a Sunday paper on 4/12 and 4/19 for a position. Part of running an ad means the company gets "tear sheets" (actual ad from newspaper sent to party placing ad) following the run. It's now Wednesday, tear sheets are pulled on Mondays, and our account reps from paper are on vacay...
Observations
Posted on April 20, 2009Note to Ghetto Girls:Your oneupmanship of who is more ghetto is tiring. I come to work to get stuff done and not learn about the intricate nature of living in the 'hood. Personally, I don't need to learn why it best not to leave said 'hood residence after dark*...
Blah Blah
Posted on April 17, 2009My jeans are looser, tummy flatter, legs tightening up, calf getting a well-defined egg shape from cycling. Damn, I love cycling.Love the curve of the muscles around the knee. Yay!
Working Out
Posted on April 17, 2009I need to be less competitive with myself. At this rate by June I'll be cycling a 100 miles a day. I keep adding miles to the workout. Why, you ask? This insane competition inside my head to one-up the last workout.Stop me before I bike to work. It's 50 mi each way...
Dicta
Posted on April 15, 2009Dicta from my world...WorkoutsRamping up my workouts and getting back into the swing of them has been incredible for me. I'm so loving the hardcore sweat, exhaustion, sore muscles and the intoxicating flush of endorphins after a workout. I've bounced from 12 miles a workout to 14 miles in the same time frame on my recumbent bike and quite pleased with the efforts...
Defintion to Handling Stress
Posted on April 14, 2009Being the avid reader of The Namby Pamby that I am...he so eloquently provided a definition of handling stress."(1) Open a bottle of wine (2) insert straw (3) inhale until *** becomes tolerable. Repeat as necessary."I concur.
A Potato
Posted on April 09, 2009"Some luck lies in not getting what you thought you wanted but getting what you have, which once you have got it you may be smart enough to see is what you would have wanted had you known." - Garrison KellorI'm there and I know what I've got and damn blessed for it...
Music Meme
Posted on April 07, 2009Inspired and jacked from Useless Dicta since she's suffered through law school and understands the plight.Rules of the game:1. Put your iPod, iTunes, Windows Media Player, CD Player, etc. on shuffle.2. For each question, press the forward (next) button to get a new song, the title of the song is the answer to the question...
Conquering
Posted on April 05, 2009What an insane, restful, relaxing, busy week.Bouncing back from finals that took so much from me mentally and physically to encounter grief. Grief that was thrust, immediate, and violent. It was an odd paradox to encounter so much stress in such a short span of time and it got me thinking about how much of life is not about ourselves...
Services
Posted on April 01, 2009Mike Price's funeral service is on Friday, April 3, 2009 at 11 am. Bethel Open Bible Lodi, CAMy friend, Maddie, asked if I'd hold her hand through the service. I told her only if she held mine.Mike was so dearly loved by all of us.Mike's Obituary
Sunset for Some
Posted on March 30, 2009Today, my family and numerous friends got word that someone we all knew well committed suicide this morning. He was a cool guy. Tapping 50 yrs old and had the world by its tail, successful in construction, and loved by all. Last fall the rug got pulled on him...
A Scrum and a Ruck
Posted on March 28, 2009Okay...it was a brutal final. None of the practice exams, nor dry runs in class matched this whatsoever. I believe my exact words were "What the F***?!" and managed to invent a few new swear words after leaving the building.Honestly, it was a half-assed written question that insulted what we've learned this semester...
Chilling Out
Posted on March 27, 2009Yeah, ready for tonight.Summer class is Personal Property and then in August its the Big Three of the 1L.Then I'll wax poetic for the days of electives.Weather is beautiful today and in the 70's. Got spring clothes out and planning an storming of Coldwater Creek come next week for updated wardrobe...
Phew
Posted on March 27, 2009Locked and loaded for tomorrow night's final. Have the seven intentional tort[ure]s down pat and all elements of said items committed forever to memory. Know my formula for the exam cold and can spot an issue at a 1000 metres without a scope.So...if you see a raging fire, its my burning of the semester's worth of notes, outlines, briefs I will never need again.
Closing In
Posted on March 26, 2009On wrapping up the studying for the day. Seriously, how many times can you write about intentional torts in one day? Apparently, a great deal. (One can also consume great quatities of Peanut Butter Girl Scout (TM) Cookies while doing so.)Discovering I do not like Torts...
Morning After
Posted on March 26, 2009I'm sitting with my morning coffee, brekkie, ...and studying.I feel alive today. I've got an official law school final under my belt. One more to go. Totally chilling out, focused, more determined than a few day ago since I know what to expect tomorrow night (okay, aside from the palpable fear and panic in the classroom), and I have my game plan for the day...
Final #1
Posted on March 25, 2009Hung out in jammies all day watching Discovery TV. Drank coffee, took in some kitteh therapy, and chilled. At school now, signed in with an exam number and connected. Ignoring the panicking mates around me who are attempting to elicit an answer from me as to what is on the exam tonight...
Oh Yes.
Posted on March 25, 2009Thanks to Tanner and their Petit Verdot '06 for the chill out.Studying is done.I. Will. Own. Finals.Hit the zen-like chill. Milking it for all its worth. Like the calm.I rocked it this semester. Law is MY bitch now.
Frightening Realizations...
Posted on March 24, 2009Tis Finals Eve and I've have some interesting thoughts run through my head in the last 24 hrs. They are:It would save me time this week if I dressed the night before and slept in my clothes. Can my car do auto-pilot? I mean, it knows the way to my work by this point...
Best Description of a Gunner
Posted on March 24, 2009Dude nailed it: Gunner at Old Cow Hand blog.(yes, I'm going back to studying...enough dicking around for one night.)
Hazing, Pure Hazing
Posted on March 24, 2009How do I know?I'm discussing the Miranda rights and admissability of statements. Not so bad you say?Umm, one practice test its "Popeye".Yes, Popeye. The exact statement in question is "I yam what I yam".Did Officer Sweet Pea violate Popeye's Miranda rights...
48 and Counting
