John Burton Race ordered to pay wife $7.2 million divorce settlement.

London, England: (Oct-07-07) British celebrity chef John Burton Race's wife Kim brought a $7.2 million claim during divorce proceedings against him. Sources claim that the couple split due to Burton Race's affair with artist Suzi Ward, 40. Burton Race and Ward have a son together. The suit by Kim Burton Race claims 80% of the couple's assets, citing her responsibilities for their children. The couple married in 1997 and opened the New Angel in 2004, earning high marks in England's reputable Michelin guide. As per the records, Kim Race holds a 50% stake in the New Angel restaurant. In a settlement reached, a judge ordered John Burton Race to liquidate his assets to settle the $7.2 million divorce claim. The 50-year-old star of "Kitchen Criminals" and "Britain's Best Dish" was asked to put his reputable New Angel restaurant on the market to pay off his wife. Though Burton Race claimed that he is not required to liquidate his assets, only raise the required $7.2 million, Kim Burton Race stated that the sale was court ordered and inevitable.
