Department of Defense Sued by Veterans


Veterans Sue Government Over Chemical, Biological Weapons Experiments

A lawsuit has been filed against the CIA, Department of Defense and various other agencies by 6 veterans who allege they were unknowingly exposed to dangerous chemicals and germs as part of government-sponsored experiments in a program that ran from the early 1950s through to at least 1976.

According to reports, the veterans took part in the testing of nerve agents, biological weapons and mind control techniques, and are in poor health today as a result.

The 6 veterans and the organization Vietnam Veterans of America, the plaintiffs in the suit, are demanding a court ruling that the testing program was illegal, and appropriate health care. The lawsuit is seeking class action status.
