Verizon Wireless to pay $21 million to settle termination fees class action

Without admitting any wrongdoing, Verizon has agreed to pay $21 million to settle a class action claiming excessive termination fees. FCC chairman Kevin Martin believes that the fees are not being used to recover real costs, but are being used to keep customers locked into the provider.

Verizon has been fighting the case since 2006.
