Microsoft Settles with Arizona for $4.4 Million
Microsoft Corporation has reached a preliminary settlement of $4.4 million in a class-action lawsuit brought by Arizona state and local governmental entities.
The suit alleged that Microsoft illegally obtained monopoly power in the market for operating systems and software applications, "and used that power to charge higher prices."
State and local government bodies in Arizona bought Microsoft operating systems and applications software between May 1994 and December 2008.
