Law School Roundup #202
Posted on December 08, 2009The 202nd Law School Roundup is up over at Beyond the Underground.Check back here, same great place and time, for #203.
But only the Flintstones ones.
Posted on December 08, 2009I changed into sweatpants last night, and I have no intention of getting changed out of them until at least Friday morning (we're in the "reading period" part of finals season). I also won't be leaving my apartment- even if I were so inclined (and not buried under an unholy mountain of writing), my car is in the shop and it is snowing...
This is not a huge mistake.
Posted on December 07, 2009If you are like me, your family is getting nothing for Christmas, and they're going to like it, because you have Shit To Do.Good news! This morning, Amazon's GoldBox deal is all three seasons of Arrested Development for $30. Which is basically an awesome deal...
Hilarious, Fate.
Posted on December 05, 2009The irony of the fact that today is the anniversary of the 21st Amendment and the start of my self-imposed "No Booze, No Fun, No Social, Just Law School" epic writing weekend is not lost on me.Conclusion: Law school kills fun. And freedom.
Sometimes, Finals Make Me Surly.
Posted on December 03, 2009And when I get surly, I take it out on other people. And when you combine finals ennui with surly with feisty, and then send me to class, it's basically just a big mess.Which is why things will happen like just now, when I came to my timorous new baby-Prof's class (he of the tremendous political correctness and the constant apologies)...
Tuesday: Better than Monday, 7 days a week.
Posted on December 01, 2009Today, my prof who assigned The Paper From Hell came into lecture and announced, apropos of nothing, that The Paper From Hell Which Is Oh Shit Due In 7 Days is actually The Paper From Purgatory, and we'd all be getting an extension to the last day of the grading period...
This is for you, Virgin.
Posted on November 30, 2009So remember that epic Saturday morning writing extravaganza I was on?Yeah. 36 pages. I ran out of drivel 4 pages shy of my goal. Blast! Looking for block quotes today, obviously.UPDATED TO ADD: Am spelling-challenged doofus. Please let this semester be over!

This is what my Saturday looks like.
Posted on November 28, 2009Me, three cats and a cocker spaniel, camped out on the couch housesitting while Darwin brings home the bacon.Case of Coke Zero (which college rooommate/Child Genius used to refer to as "liquid intelligence") on my left. stacks of caselaw on e-discovery on my right, warm fuzzy blanket in the middle...

Posted on November 20, 2009Hi. I am here, post-meltdown.In case you were wondering, yes, this is a normal law student thing. Sometimes, a girl's got to sit in her room and freak out a little bit about how the journal is a disaster and her laptop keeps crashing and eating her admin law outline, and how Paper of Doom #1 is due 10 days earlier than she thought, and how oh my goodness if she doesn't finish the Paper of Doom soon, she will only have 5 days to write 120 pages and why are all of her authors suddenly struck with an attack of the asshole bug?...
Tonight
Posted on November 18, 2009...is the night I have my total emotional meltdown over law school. Please send cookies.
So. Freaking. Awesome.
Posted on November 18, 2009You cannot possibly tell me this is not the most awesome thing you have seen all week. Unless you've seen live elephants. Which I have a soft spot for. Also: This blog does not condone the maltreatment of penguins, on account of the fact that you never rough up guys in tuxedos.
Law School Roundup #199
Posted on November 17, 2009Welcome to this week's Law School Roundup, the "Oh NO, Its November!" Edition.Without further ado...Tenure: It explains so much (Awkward Turtle)That's What They're Calling It These Days: Why November in the law school is a little...off. (The Corner in the Middle)Just Off: When law school puts you in a funk...
Is it so much to ask, really?
Posted on November 14, 2009All I want is to not, upon reading an article think "Aw, crap. We could totally get sued for this." Remember when I thought that I had terrified my 2Ls into productivity and fabulousness?Foolish, foolish, me. We have a publication deadline on Monday and (fun fact!) the perfect storm of authors who like to make crazy (read: libelous) accusations about other institutions, and 2Ls who figure "Eh! Who needs citations anyway?"So yes: the Journal's going well, thanks for asking...
You're all a bunch of pushers.
Posted on November 10, 2009In other recent news, I signed up for twitter. Please believe that I will be using this an excuse for shoddy blogwork. You brought it on yourself.
Law School Roundup #198

When nerdiness meets 3L-itis
Posted on November 05, 2009Because I like writing, pain, and being over-committed, I am doing a research paper for a professor this semester. If you know me, it will come as no surprise that I am tragically, desperately, and hopelessly behind on every. single. deadline. we agreed upon...
To twit, or not to twit?
Posted on November 03, 2009Twitter? Maybe? Its a balance between my natural loathing of the medium and my need for attention and self-promotion.Also, I sort of think that if I twitter, I might blog more, on account of the fact that I could do it in 140 characters. Or less....I'm just not sure I'm that kind of girl...
This one time, at law school...
Posted on November 02, 2009...I met David Lat. And it was awesome.I mentioned this some time ago, but then the fury of law school rained down upon my head, and I lost track of the post. Anyway, here's how it went down:I had to be in Northern California for Family Wedding Shenanigans (Am emotionally scarred...

Could not be a worse way to spend a Sunday
Posted on November 01, 2009...than sitting in 4 hours of BarBri MPRE prep.Ugh.
The Write-On Really Wasn't Worth It.
Posted on October 28, 2009It has been a while since you've gotten an update on The Journal of Fun and Wonderment, Internet. This is not because the JFW has not been a thrilling whirlwind of joy and bubbles. Rather, this is because I have been taking the same approach to the Journal as I do to that dent in my car, Admin Law, and people who pass gas in class: if you just ignore it for long enough, it might go away...
One, two, three...liftoff!

Three things you don't want to hear in late October
Posted on October 26, 20091. Hmmmmm. Well. I've never seen a computer do that before.2. I think you need a new motherboard.3. But you can turn that article in early, right?....I can only assume swine flu and a rapid coyote attack are on the agenda for Tuesday. Super.

Sheer Marketing Genius
Posted on September 30, 2009Roommate recently forwarded me this article about a couple who had their wedding at Wal-Mart.Romantic, right?Anyway, this is my thought: How could this not make the most awesome reality show ever? Think about it. Trap 10 engaged couples in a Super Wal-Mart for 48 hours...
