I feel naked

Posted on January 17, 2008
without my cell phone. Which I left at work.

I still can't believe it. My contracts grade is in

Posted on January 16, 2008
and it's my highest one. Not the highest in the class, of course. But the highest of the three classes in which we had exams. What is the world coming to? I actually got (slightly) above the curve, even. So weird... SO unexpected! I mean seriously, I was just hoping to pass...

9 More Countries!

Posted on January 14, 2008
I don't know why I find this so exciting, but there are 7 more countries to add to my list! Still no Ireland, though. :( IndonesiaSouth AfricaGreece VenezuelaItalyPakistanSingaporeKoreaPhilippinesCanadaMexicoJamaicaAustraliaMalaysiaIndiaQatarEgyptFranceCroatiaGermanyEnglandPortugalSpain

Grossest commercial ever

Posted on January 13, 2008
Yeah. Especially the part where they dispose of the "shavings". Eeeeeeew! :)

Grades are in.... sort of.

Posted on January 13, 2008
So, I passed two of the three exams that I received my grades in! Except that we haven't gotten our Contracts grade back yet. I ended up doing a little worse in Civ Pro than I thought I would, and a little better in Crim Law than I thought I would. I also did a little better on my final LPS assignment for the semester than I did on the first draft of it...

Go Pats!

Posted on January 13, 2008
They beat the Jaguars. Now on to whoever wins the Indianapolis/San Diego game!17-0, baby! :)

Getting rid of the Ghost(s) of Men Past

Posted on January 08, 2008
Sort of like the Ghost of Christmas Past. I've decided that I spend way too much time wishing and hoping that things were different. That the guy I like would somehow see the error of his ways and come to me declaring his feelings for me. But I'll never find what I'm looking for if I'm constantly looking back instead of looking forward...

Check out the "Case Law Hall of Fame"

Posted on January 08, 2008
So cool. So funny. So awesome.

So, it's a BAD idea to tell a judge to kiss your rear end???

Posted on January 08, 2008
Ruling Over Kiss-My-Rear Note To Judge StaysCourt Upholds Judge's Contempt OrderOk, apparently Judith Law was a little upset with the judge. Because when she signed a court order reinstating her 5 year sentence after violating parole, she added a little message for judge Diane Goodstein...

The guy who wrote the book

Posted on January 06, 2008
So, second semester starts tomorrow. I should probably start my reading, huh? Anyway, I'm going to have Joseph Glannon for Torts. Literally the guy that wrote the book on the subject. Which we have to buy for his class, by the way. :) Still, his reviews on Rate My Professors are pretty good, so I'm looking forward to having him as a professor...

Still waiting for Ireland. And speaking of Ireland...

Posted on January 06, 2008
So, in addition to these countries, my site has now been visited by someone from the Phillipines. Still waiting on Ireland, though.Speaking of Ireland, I saw "PS, I Love You" this weekend. Such a sad movie! It was really good, though, and funny, too. It somehow managed to have that combination of funny and sad that you experience after you lose someone you love...

Happy New Year!

Posted on January 01, 2008
Here's my horoscope for today:It's time for you to slow down the pace of your days. Take on fewer commitments in your life, and remember what it's like to have free time! Too much has been going on lately, and you're in danger of losing perspective on who you really are...

Changed my name

Posted on December 30, 2007
Well, my blog name, anyway. I changed it from Random Ramblings About Life and Law School to Random Thoughts on Life and Law School. In case anyone cares. :)

The Perfect Patriots!!!

Posted on December 29, 2007
Wow... first the Red Sox, now the Patriots! Ok, so the Pats didn't win the championship tonight. But an undefeated season! The first in the NFL since 1972, and the only team ever to win 16 games in a row. Tom Brady broke the record for single season touchdown passes (50)...

One of the reasons I love Jon Stewart

Posted on December 29, 2007
I know this is a little old, but it's still relevant. John Stewart rips CNNs Crossfire a new oneAdd to My Profile | More VideosYou can see the entire segment here, or read the transcript here.According to Wikipedia, Tucker Carlson was fired soon after, and the show was then cancelled.

The Assassination of Benazir Bhutto

Posted on December 28, 2007
What can you say about such a tragedy? A strong, outspoken woman who wanted to help the people of her country find their voice was killed on Thursday, 12/27. Why do we always kill people who speak out for peace and understanding? John Lennon, Martin Luther King, Jr...

Second NH newpaper: "The more Mitt Romney speaks, the less believable he becomes"

Posted on December 26, 2007
Mitt Romney said he didn't give much weight to the Concord Monitor's anti-endorsement of him because the Monitor is "liberal". Which I don't necessarily agree with. I'm no expert, but I have lived in both Nashua and Manchester, and still live in NH. The Nashua Telegraph tends to be liberal, the Manchester Union Leader is proudly conservative, and the Monitor seems to be somewhere in the middle...

This is NOT the kind of lawyer I want to be...

Posted on December 26, 2007
Ok, I realize that I won't always (usually?) have a say in what cases to take, but this?A grown man sued an 8 year old boy and his father, alleging that the boy skiied into him at a ski resort in Denver. Apparently David Pfahler needed surgery after the accident...

NH newpaper: Mitt Romney is a phony!

Posted on December 23, 2007
See? Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks Mitt Romney sucks. The Concord Monitor, instead of endorsing a candidate, has actually chosen to tell its readers why they should NOT vote for Mitt Romney. "When New Hampshire partisans are asked to defend the state's first-in-the-nation primary, we talk about our ability to see the candidates up close, ask tough questions and see through the baloney...

Ok, this is wierd

Posted on December 23, 2007
All weekend, I keep thinking "Oh man, I have to start my homework!" Or studying, either one. Then I remember I'm on vacation. Ahh, that's nice. :) But still, it's further proof that law school has taken over part of my brain. We don't get our grades until the second week in January, so 'til then I'm trying not to think about it...

And I'm done....

Posted on December 20, 2007
I'm tired. But I'm done. My last exam was today. Now all I have to do is wait 3 weeks for the results. And naturally I leave the exam feeling ok, as always, but I'm sure I'll be feeling like I failed in a few days.In the meantime, I'm going to bed. 'Night!

Partisan politics still suck

Posted on December 18, 2007
Those poor guys who call from the Democratic campaigns here have no idea what they're getting into when they call me. :) Obviously I'm passionate about politics. But I think I talk their ear off. And they're polite (or bored) enough to sound interested, which only encourages me!I actually debated with one guy, a Republican, on a plane once...

Two exams down, one more to go.... and two more countries to add to my list!

Posted on December 17, 2007
Ooops, I forgot to post. My Civ Pro final was last week! It's amazing what a difference a professor can make in how prepared you feel for the exam. Of course, my grade remains to be seen, but I felt more confident with this one than I did with Contracts...

I should be studying, but...

Posted on December 14, 2007
I thought this was funny. In an interview, Bono and The Edge were asked "what is your relationship with your fans". The Edge replied:"They have the best taste in music". :)Check it out, it's actually a pretty cool interview.

We all think we failed

Posted on December 12, 2007
So, judging by the amount of people who have found my blog lately by searching for "I failed law school" (or contracts or exams...)we're apparently not alone. And if we're graded on a curve, that's a good thing, right?

Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday to me!

Posted on December 11, 2007
Happy birthday dear me, happy birthday to me!Guess what today is? :)

I've already learned something for next semester...

Posted on December 09, 2007
Ok, I started outlining a couple of months ago, but then I lost my flash memory card or whatever it's called. The thing that Suffolk was nice enough to give each of us for free. That sucked. Then I didn't restart my outlines and finish them until it was time to get ready for the exams...
