Robert Fresh Markets Win $21.6 Million Insurance Lawsuit
New Orleans Grocer Robert Fresh Markets has won its lawsuit against its insurer United Fire & Casualty Insurance Co, with a settlement of $21.6 million.
According to reports, the first court witness, who was the insurance adjuster and who initially reported the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina to the chain of grocery stores to the insurance company, testified that United Fire & Casualty pressured him to change his report of the damage to the stores in a way that favored the company. The company then terminated him.
