Class Action Filed Against Great Escape
About 130 plaintiffs alleging they became ill as a result of visiting the Great Escape Lodge and Indoor Water Park will be allowed to file a class action lawsuit against the facility.
So far there are 130 plaintiffs in the case, but as many as 600 people may be affected. The potential damages in the case could reach $6 million.
An investigation by the Department of Health (DOH) into the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge was done in March 2008, after dozens of people became ill with severe vomiting and diarrhea. The DOH later determined the cause to be the highly contagious norovirus, a bug that can be spread by contaminated surfaces or food, and through direct contact with an infected person.
