DRAM Patent Lawsuit


ProMOS Technologies and Mosel Vitelic pay MOSAID Technologies an undisclosed patent infringement settlement.

New York, NY: (Feb-4-08) MOSAID Technologies Inc. brought a lawsuit against two Hsinchu, Taiwan-based companies, ProMOS Technologies Inc. and Mosel Vitelic, Inc., alleging that they infringed on its patents. Sources close to the case stated that the parties had reached a settlement, resolving the dispute. Under the terms of the settlement, ProMOS has been granted a six year, royalty bearing license under MOSAID's patents for all Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) products sold worldwide under ProMOS' brand name. The agreement with Mosel Vitelic, which no longer manufactures DRAM products, calls for a single lump sum payment. Sources on both sides refused to reveal financial details of the license and settlement agreements, stating that they are confidential. [NASDAQ NEWS: DRAM PATENT]
