Twilight Part Two

ADVERTISEMENTS
In response to Butterflyfish's comment to my post about the Twilight movie, yes the books really are that good.

I didn't think that I would like the books at all. I've never really been into any other vampire stories, like Ann Rice for example, and the fact that these books were located in the "teen" section of Barnes and Noble didn't help. I thought I was far beyond my days of enjoying cheesy teen romance drama type books. But just as my sister promised when she told me that these books were great, they really are great. Granted, these books probably don't belong in the classic literary masterpiece category with Pride and Prejudice, To Kill a Mockingbird or Hamlet. But the Twilight books are a very fun read with a story that is easy to get into, characters that are likable, and enough suspense and romance to leave you page turning until all hours of the morning. I didn't like the 2nd and 4th books as well as the 1st and 3rd books, but overall the entire series was pretty great.

Unfortunately, the movie wasn't quite as good as the book. It was entertaining, and pretty good, but it just didn't quite have the same magic that the book has. Many of the important parts of the books seemed quite rushed and I think there could have been another 30 minutes added onto the movie to help develop the story a bit more, but it was still a fun couple of hours to spend not worrying about all those papers and finals that keep screaming for my attention.

Since I've already read all of the Twilight series, as well as Harry Potter, and I've run out of Sex and the City DVDs to keep me entertained, I'm taking suggestions for fun and entertaining reads. Nothing too heavy here, law school provides plenty of intellectual challenge, especially at this time of year, I really just need entertaining where I can escape for a few hours. So if you have suggestions, comment away!! Thanks :)

Side Note: I'm currently watching the AMA's right now- and since when did the New Kids on the Block make a comeback? I must have missed that memo.......

Side Note #2: I'm really digging this Taylor Swift song that she is currently singing on the AMA's (I think it's called "White Horse")- and I normally don' t care for her stuff. I think this is the song of hers that debuted on Grey's Anatomy earlier this season.
