Toyota Recalls 1 Million Plus Cars Worldwide

Defective Seatbelts, Exhaust Components Prompt Recall

Japanese auto maker Toyota announced today that it will recall more than 1.35 million Vitz, Yaris ( also known as Belta) and Ractis cars built from January 2005 to April 2008.

So far, there has been 1 reported case of fire, in Japan, which resulted from a faulty seatbelt design. This allegedly caused a noise-absorber device to melt when the seatbelt tensioner was activated in a collision.
