Children of Passenger Killed in Plane Crash Awarded $4.5 Million
The children of a passenger killed in a small plane crash in 2003 have been awarded a settlement of $4.5 million.
Kathryn Stanley and Ashley Stanley were 18 months and 5 months old respectively when their father was killed on January 18, 2003. Also killed in the crash were Kevin Stanley's sister and her husband.
The plane, a Cessna 172P, was found to have broken up while in flight, with its nose slamming into a mangrove swamp one mile ease of a Boston Whaler Plant, in Mosquito Lagoon, FL. While the National Transportation Safety Board had determined a loss of control during flight, what caused the loss of control was never determined.
