Personal Injury Lawsuits Allowed for Train Derailments

Legislation passed by Congress, which entitles victims of train derailments to sue for personal injury, has been upheld in a federal appeals court. The decision comes following a deadly derailment in North Dakota.

The ruling makes possible the likelihood of residents of Minot, ND., reviving personal injury lawsuits against Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd, resulting from a derailment on the western edge of the city in 2002.
