Back in 1998 i had a credit card with a credit limit of $300-500. i stopped using and paying it. It was turned over to a credit collection agency in 2000. it was written off as a charge off in 2005, and finally fell off my credit report in 2006. Now the same credit agency is contacting me in writing and wanting me to pay the debit of just under $1500 or they said they are returning it to the collection floor. What can i do and what is the statue of limitations on debt?
