Are there legal ramifications to debt settlement via credit consolidation agencies


Credit Solutions tell me that they negatiate a lump sum settlement with my credit card company through the method of my not making payments for an unspecified length of time. Will this put me at risk for having legal action taken and maybe losing my home or having my wages garnished
