Tragic Car Accident Takes Life on one Georgia Man

The Dawson News reported that a 63 year old man, Travis R. Puckett, from Dawnsonville, Georgia died after being involved in a multi-vehicle accident this past Tuesday May 12^th.

A Georgia State Patrol Official called this accident a chain reaction. The spokesperson said that a car was traveling on Highway 400 north and trying to turn left onto Highway 136.

While attempting to turn, it hit a second car traveling south on Highway 400, 'setting off the ‘chain reaction' involving Puckett's 1986 full size Chevrolet pickup truck and another vehicle that was traveling north on Highway 400.'

The Spokesperson said that the first car did not yield to the second car. Puckett's truck was the third vehicle involved in the four-vehicle accident. Puckett was taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Tragically, on Saturday, May 16^th, he died.

This crash is currently still under investigation. One of Puckett's friends, Robbie Mingo of Dawsonville, said, 'Travis loved life. He loved to talk to people. He'd go around in the morning-go sit on the bench at Goodson's [Pharmacy in downtown Dawsonville] and talk to everybody coming in and out.'

This is the 5^th traffic fatality this year in Dawsonville, according to Dawson News.
