Everybody Must Get Stoned

dyingwoman.jpgIn the first execution by stoning in southern Somalia since Sharia Law was instituted in August, a woman was pelted to death with stones in a main square in Kismayo in front of thousands of people. The woman had reportedly pled guilty to adultery.

A local Islamic leader even suggested that the woman requested the execution: "She was asked several times to review her confession but she stressed that she wanted Sharia law and the deserved punishment to apply," said Sheikh Hayakallah.
