Court Reporter Adds Paranormal Romance Writer to Her Resume

By Lynne DeVenny

ADVERTISEMENTS
A veteran Washington court reporter received a pleasant surprise a few weeks ago, when she discovered her first paranormal romance novel was available for sale on Amazon earlier than planned.

Renee Munoz, who uses the pen name Renee Rearden, wrote her own book, Moonlight Bleu (Crescent Moon Press, 2010), after she read everything published by her favorite authors. The mother of four daughters and a court reporter for Judge Bruce Spanner in Benton-Franklin Superior Court, she squeezed in time to write, with the help of her supportive husband, on Saturday mornings.

Moonlight Bleu tells the story of Saari Mitchell, a nurse and an immortal psychic who is trying to find out where her mysterious abilities come from and make peace with them. As a serial killer is terrorizing the city, she meets Dehlis Guidry and Brogan Vincent, both of whom she realizes are her soul mates and she must keep from getting killed "so she can let go of the past and embrace her future.

In addition to fiction-writing, Munoz enjoys gardening, cooking, scrapbooking, cross-stitching and exercising. She has already completed the second book in the series, and is working on the third. She won the 2007 Golden Rose contest in the paranormal category and the 2007 Stella Cameron Scarlet Boa award.

Between working as a court reporter and giving her vivid imagination free rein through her novels, there's no doubt that Munoz has the best of both real and fantasy worlds. Congratulations to her on the publication of her first novel!
