Roger Clemens
My problem with the whole Mitchell report is that they could have said anything, anything, and who can call it into question. The sum total of its legitimacy comes solely from former Senator Mitchell's reputation. And he has some prior ties to baseball. I say bollocks. As a lawyer, I'm quite familiar with the legal standards of proof. The standard of proof in the Mitchell report is well, well below any legal standard. If this was a real civil lawsuit and I'm the lawyer for Clemens and all the other guys, no one would have ever heard of Brian McNamee. I don't know what Clemens did or didn't do. Probably nobody does; maybe not even Clemens himself. I don't dawdle on unanswerable questions. I will say this - the thing that really sucks is that the culpability for this whole ordeal has fallen on the players and their suppliers/trainers. Management and ownership gets a pass. Then they can claim credit for creating the Mitchell report to "solve the problem." I call a dumptruck load of bullshit. I fault Bud Selig for performance enhancing drugs in baseball as much as Barry Bonds, Victor Conte, Roger Clemens, Brian McNamee or anyone else.
The Primaries
Is it just me or does Huckabee look like Gomer Pyle?
Serious discussion of candidates and issues to come later. Maybe.
Christmas
Even at 33, I still get into the holiday spirit. Finally watched the entirety of It's a Wonderful Life. Most of my shopping is done. Going to do some cooking. Won't have the chance to make my special Christmas shrimp gumbo this year, though. Looking forward to spending time with the fam. Then going skiing in Vail. Have a Merry Christmas everybody!!
