: Counsel to CounselDoes Talking on the Phone While Driving Really Increase Our Productivity?

I'm growing more and more convinced that talking on the cell phone while driving is not only a dangerous behavior, but it is dubious that it increases our overall productivity. I submit that the best practice is to answer your calls while in the car (if you really think it might be an important call--i.e. an active or prospective client) and let the individual know that you will call them back shortly when you have a chance to pull over to the side of the road. That solves the problem of missing out on opportunity while not subjecting other drivers to our divided attention; and by the way, it also ensures that we are giving our undivided attention to our clients and client prospects.
Interesting article on the subject in today's NYTimes. Interesting discussion on the subject on WBUR on Tuesday.
