: New York Public Personnel LawEmployer not required to provide union with the work e-mail addresses of its employees
Professional Staff Congress, AFT Local 2334 and City University Of New York, PERB Decision U-27641
City University did not violate the Taylor Law when it refused to provide the Professional Staff Conference with email addresses for employees at work. PERB?s Administrative Law Judge ruled that ?Such information is far broader than the home mailing addresses which have been deemed "necessary" for collective negotiations and contract administration.?
Although such email addresses would make it more convenient for a union to communicate with member of the unit, ?convenience is not the applicable standard.?
