This is supposed to be a law school blog, right?

ADVERTISEMENTS
So I am finally taking a class with the professor that has been named 'professor of the year' so many times, he may as well have it tattooed on his forehead. He's funny (though not as funny as Prof. Admin). Still, I can see why he's as popular as he is: he is really good at his job, and I appreciate that.

I have had a professor or three who appeared to 'phone it in,' who gave up trying to engage students, who saw no value in being structured or helpful beyond (maybe) the first week of class. He's not that guy, so I don't feel any urge to slack off in his class at all. Quite the contrary. He's engaged, so we are.

Huh. All this time I was blaming myself for my inability to become engaged in some of my 2L classes. But maybe it wasn't just me: maybe the prof just wasn't engaging.

Anyway, I am very pleased with my schedule. I have am learning from favorite professors in each class. This one was the one 'new' professor of the semester, and it is working out very well.

(For the purposes of this post, I am totally ignoring the fact I am taking Prof. Resp. with an adjunct and we have spent two classes listening to him tell us why say, convicted murderers who killed once in the heat of passion and who serve their time should totally be admitted to the Bar. We have not discussed one rule yet. Not one.)
