I won't pretend to know what's going on on Wall Street or with the Fed these days. I am probably about as knowledgeable as the average newspaper reader--law school certainly hasn't taught me under what legal authority all of these bail outs are being accomplished. Or who would have standing to challenge them. Or whether they should be challenged. *Head desk*

Anyway, every time I turn on the news, this little snippet of dialogue--specifically the last line--goes through my head.

Dr. Peter Venkman: This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions.
Mayor: What do you mean, "biblical"?
Dr Ray Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Exactly.
Dr. Ray Stantz: Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...
Winston Zeddemore: The dead rising from the grave!
Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!
