Divorce Dining!

Divorce Dining

Last week the ABA family law section had its meeting in Memphis. Finding out about this at the last moment I had to cancel an eagerly anticipated trip to Philadelphia with my most valued client who is an avid reader of this blog.

The family law conference began with the obligatory rooftop party at the Peabody. The Westin sticks out nicely. They served a buffet. The steak kabobs were decent. Unfortunately, due to the diet I could eat nothing else.

They put the only table with non-alcoholic drinks in front. I went up to get some water and pushed my way through a crowd who were waiting to speak apparently, including the mayor. Never having seen him in person before I was very impressed by his height, if there is ever an emergency he should be easy to find.

Later they had a dine around where you could pick a table to go socialize with the other divorce lawyers who are of course the most entertaining people on earth and understand the complaints about you people. I picked Texas de Brasil because I wanted to give Brazilian another chance after having gotten sick the last two times I tried it (just Brazilian not the restaurant) and there was a cute lady lawyer from Memphis who was going who seemed talkative.

The salad bar at Texas De Brazil was very impressive in itself. The prosciutto, artichoke hearts, and other antipasto would make an excellent meal in their own right. The meat was all nice roasted with a garlickly aftertaste. Also, it wasn?t overdone which is a common downside of buffet places.

The next night I went with a group to Automatic Slim?s Tonga Club, which was also a fun place. I had the tenderloin which they capably adjusted to the no potatoes request. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy their meals and I didn?t see anything that out of place or poorly presented. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
