Can a creditor/collection agency call other employees at your place of work AND call your adult children who live in another state?

I am getting phone calls continually - sometimes several voice mail in one day at home and at least a couple of times at work. I can only guess that it is related to an AMerican Express bill that I owe and intend to pay. I understand that no one but myself created this debt. But when voice mail is left on my telephone, all that is left is a phone number. I do not want to call a number unless I know who the company is that is calling. I can't email or send a letter of complaint because I don't know who it is. When this call comes into my office, as per the caller id, I don't answer. They have now called our swithcboard, and directed the call to another person who works for me. Yesterday my daughter who lives in Utah and my son who lives in Oregon both called to tell me that a woman named Tracy ??? is looking for me. I believe that this is harassment. How can I put a stop to it. I intend to begin repayment of the debt at a minimun of $200.00 every other week, but am not sure how to handle the situation. I leave my house at 6:AM and normally get hom about 7:30 or 8 in the evening. I am not out playing games, I am at work.
