How to prevent an arrest from appearing in the local newspaper?

I was recently charged with shoplifting in Minnesota and issued a tab charge. Is there a way to prevent this from appearing in police report in local paper? It was accidental which is hard to prove, but I will have an attorney attempt to get it dismissed. If item is in paper, would cause local businesses, co-workers, family etc to know about it before I have a chance to clear my name I am also a probationary employee in a new job and worry that just being accused will result in my losing my job. Can a lawyer put a block on this being published? I know in Minnesota here, it is considered a matter of public record.
