My ar was repossed from in about 2004, do I still owe the bank any money?

I had my car that was reppossessed from me in about 2004. About 3 to 4 years ago, I had a judgment in my name. I'm making payment on the car to the collection agency. The other I received a free copy from my credit report, my car balance is less in the credit than what the collection agency told me. When the car got sold after it was repossed from, I never received any letter from the bank to let me know they sold the car. I need to know my right. I would appreciate it if someone can get back to me.
