Indiana Law expired license plate code 9-18-2-7 can a city court judge impose a fine for expired plates even if the registration is valid


The plates & registration are currently valid and acknowledged by the state.The issue is these plates were on a car I owned and sold privately and legally.Per the Indiana BMV, I can legally transfer plates,which I did. ISP stopped me for a missing expiration sticker,ticketed for expired plates. I proved to a judge the plates are good,yet he refuses to dismiss because he claims I have to prove to him I didnt put the plates on the newer car before I sold the old car. The ticket is only for expired, and says nothing about when. Since I have solid proof the plates were never expired, can he force me to prove something not included on the summons?
