Tenants rights to privacy and Landlords rights of access
Our landlord just put our rental on sale. We have been excellent tenants and have never had issues with rent payments. We do not want realtors bringing clients into our home when we are not present. Recieved a letter from lessor's attorney threatening eviction and damages if we interfere with the sale. Can having realtors (as agents of the lessor) come into our home and violate the Covenant of Quiet Enjoyment? Our lease expired last month and we have been on a month to month plan. The home is in Illinois.
