Can a creditor whose collectable was discharged by bankruptcy ask for payment if I resume doing business with them after my bankruptcy filing?

I filed personal bankruptcy 6 years ago. I just received a bill from one of my creditors in the bankruptcy. He is a psychologist I have recently returned to for counseling. Does he have the right to ask for payment of the debt that was released by my bankruptcy filing?
