Can one be fired from their job without being notified?


Can a employer fire you without your knowledge? Is firing without notificaiton a wrongful termination? I was moved to a different work site as a result of an incident involving another employee. After a meeting was called concerning the incident I was told that the position I was supposed to be sent to was no longer avalible. I was never told I was fired, simply that the position in the new location did not exist.
