I live in Sarasota, FL and am appalled at the apartment living conditions in this area. How in the world do they get away with building these apartments with no insulation to keep the noise down between floors (and walls)?! I have read many reviews as to this problem in more than just my apartment complex. They must have to meet codes in order to be built, but who MAKES these codes and how is this considered "passing"? Is there anything we as consumers can do to change these codes so that we can get some peace and quiet and piece of mind? Any answers would be appreciated. I'm sick of being taken advantage of and want to stand up for "the people". Please let me know where I can begin.
