The following is excerpted from an April 29, 2010 article at Business Week:
Edwards Lifesciences Corp. said Thursday that it has prevailed in a patent infringement case before a German court.
Edwards said the Federal Patent Court in Munich, Germany found that the transcatheter heart valve patent of Cook Inc. was invalid. Cook filed suit in 2008, alleging that Edwards' transcatheter heart valve infringed its patent.
Edwards said a Dusseldorf, Germany district court ruled in March that its product did not infringe on Cook's patent, preceding similar court victories in the U.K. in June.
