Someone left a comment asking if I watched the Lost finale. I didn't. I've never watched Lost, and I don't say that with any judgment attached -- I certainly watch enough television of dubious quality that whether a show is objectively worth watching is clearly not the only factor my brain takes into account when deciding what to tune into.
My problem with TV tends to be that I'm either a loyal viewer or I'm not -- if I watch something, I watch pretty much every episode. I don't like to jump in late. And I don't like to have to catch up if it's something serialized like Lost. And anything that sounds dark -- anything that seems like it's going to fall toward the mystery / science fiction / epic part of the spectrum -- I'm initially disinclined to watch. So by the time something like Lost becomes something people are watching, it's already too late for me, I'm not hooked, and once I know something is addictive, if I'm not already watching, I'm reluctant to risk getting drawn in, because the last thing I need is to watch more TV.
So I've got nothing to say about Lost, except that if I'd watched it, my guess is that I would have been mostly Lost as to what was going on.
