In Only 3 Months, Facebook Gains 50 Million More People With Too Much Time On Their Hands

Back in January I posted about how Facebook was up to 150 million users.  (At the time, they would have been the 8th most populous country, larger than Japan or Russia.) Well, they’ve added another 50 million folks in 3 months, which bumps the People’s Republic of Facebook up 3 notches to #5 in the world.

While I’m throwing large Facebook numbers at you, here’s another one: 850 million. That’s the number of photos Facebook users add to their pages each month. Right now FB hosts 15 billion images. And they’re not even #1 for photo-sharing — according to TechCrunch, the title (20 billion) goes to ImageShack, which I’ve never heard of. But given FB’s superdedooper rate of growth, it’s only a matter of time before they pass ImageShack.
