Friday's Three Burning Legal Questions

By Bruce Carton

ADVERTISEMENTS
Here are today's three burning legal questions, along with the answers provided by the blogosphere. 1) Question: I'm headed to divorce court. My wife attempted to impale me with a samurai sword during an argument (don't worry, my daughter stopped her when the blade was inches away from me). What category do I file this fall under -- irreconcilable differences, or something? Answer: Samurai sword attack? That's all you got? Don't even bother. (New York Law Journal, Sword Attack Claim Does Not Cut It; 'Abandonment' Wins Divorce) 2) Question: I have a "Hit Me, I Need the Money" bumper sticker on my car. Hilarious! Do you think this will impact my personal injury lawsuit that I just filed following an auto accident? Answer: To paraphrase Jackie Chiles, "Oh it's going to be a problem ... for you!" (Popehat, In Which An Old Dream Comes True) 3) Question: Due to budget cuts, our county's Sheriff's Department has been cut from 112 to 49 deputies. Any advice? Answer: "Arm yourself?" (WKYC, Ashtabula County: Judge Tells Residents to "Arm Themselves")
