ADVERTISEMENTS
Today, my always-helpful Pandora Mozart station* played a piece by Georg Philip Telemann. I rather enjoyed it, so I clicked over to tell Pandora that I liked it, and briefly skimmed his bio.I found this gem:
The youth showed remarkable talent in music, but was temporarily discouraged in his chosen pursuit by Puritan Lutherans, who told Telemann's mother that he would turn out no better than "a clown, a tightrope walker or a marmot-trainer."
It's good to know that there's options out there for those of us whose talents are as yet...unappreciated. I would make a stellar marmot-trainer.
See? Marmots. Adorable, trainable, extremely unlikely to "go Socratic on your ass." No bar exam required.
I'm Ebaying tiny adorable marmot costumes starting...now.
*Hi, my name is Nobody, and I am late to the game. Roommate just introduced me to Pandora Radio, and it is a godsend. Yeah Pandora!
