Is it Really Already December?

I have no idea where the last 3-4 weeks have gone. Between being insanely busy at work and trying to squeeze in far too many social commitments I'm not entirely sure how I have managed to get any sleep. Apologies for the lack of blogging as of lately. Here's a brief rundown of all that has been going on in my useless world:

1. I won my first jury trial :) It was a case that wasn't very strong that I didn't have much time to prep for, and yet somehow I managed to pull it out of the bag.

2. I managed to survive the useless family thanksgiving which included extended family from both my mom and my dad's sides converging upon my parent's house in useless suburb. Only minimal alcohol was involved and everyone made it out alive. I have no idea how we managed that.

3. IT guy laughed hysterically when I took him my super sick PC and told him the entire story of how I will never ever be switching back to a PC for my personal use. Luckily he was able to fix the computer in about 4 hours. I'm surprised I still have computer privileges at work frankly.

4. There's been lots of figure skating on TV which means hours and hours of tivoed entertainment while I work on stacks of files from work that seem to be getting bigger and bigger by the day despite all the work I'm doing.

5. I have no idea what to buy anyone for Christmas. Normally I'm not really all that into Christmas, but for some reason the festive bug bit me this year and I decided to splurge for a real size tree with decorations (my previous tree was a pathetic little table top tree).

Other funny thing about this tree is that I vividly remember when I was a little kid I was always so mad every Christmas because my parents refused to let us put multi colored lights on the tree. I thought white lights were so boring and not pretty. Somehow as an adult I find colored lights hideous and white lights simply gorgeous. Wonder what my 5 year old self would have thought of the tree with all white, silver, and clear decorations?

6. Despite the fact that I have a pile of work that has to get done before tomorrow morning and I've already spent six hours in the office this weekend, I absolutely do not miss the work of the "usual" December. (law school finals).

7. I need new suits. I'm not pencil thin, but I'm not a plus sized girl either. I hate that pencil skirts are back in style, I look so much better in a-lines. Need some ideas of where to shop, Banana and Ann Taylor have let me down recently.

8. Seems like a majority of my friends are moving or looking to move because they can't find jobs in Useless City. This makes me sad. Hope I don't end up all alone here in my useless world.

9. It needs to stop snowing in Useless City and instead dump some good snow up in the mountains. I still haven't been skiing yet because there isn't very much snow. Super disappointing and lame.

10. Things with Trivia Boy have become 10 times more complicated in the last week. I have no idea how I feel about any of it or what I want. *sigh*
