What Can I Do Regarding False/Obsolete Registrant Information for Domain Name Registration?

By IBLS Editor

ADVERTISEMENTS
This question is regarding false/obsolete registrant information for domain name registration. There is a very derogatory and defamatory website hosted on internic.ca by one of their customers. The targeted individual is in currently in prison in Europe and for many complex reasons and fears has not sought legal or social help. As I am not legal guardian or have power of attorney I have not formally registered charges. Some of the information is clearly false and is questionable while some of it is true. I had hoped to bring it down on the basis that icann.org and internic.ca rules stipulate that the registrant information should be accurate and on notice be corrected within 15 days or the site is deleted. I complained to the above bodies and even provided proof about the change in employment and gave them the new residence address sans the condominium number but the website is still up and running. Only the name, personal email and phone number is correct. The residence address, the work email and phone number are obsolete since spring 2007. I have not received any response from icann.org or internic.ca, only on the receipt of my first email on 24th Dec the customer service wanted to verify with me if it was not just a prank email. I provided them my phone number, since then I have not had any replies. Is there any other body which addresses such issues? There is also another site with the same host by the same registrant with the same false/obsolete registrant details. I would appreciate very much any help and guidance to curb this kind of blatant violation of rules by all the parties concerned.
