Bankruptcy is not a crutch. When used responsibly, bankruptcy can dig you out of the financial catastrophes you never could have anticipated, such as the U.S. unemployment reaching nearly 10%! This is perhaps the reason the number of U.S. bankruptcies has risen 60% since last year. Right now, Americans need a salvation, and in many cases filing bankruptcy is their saving grace.
Compared to other countries? bankruptcy information and filing statistics, we lead the pack: Canada?s bankruptcies are up 57%, 43% in Spain, 35% in the United Kingdom, and 28% in France. Bankruptcies have been much slighter in Germany and Japan whose numbers have increased by 17 and 18 percent, respectively. It?s important to note Spain?s increase, as they have one of the most unforgivable bankruptcy procedures in all of Europe. The stigmata attached to Spain?s bankruptcy applicants only further illuminates the wonderful benefits an American personal bankruptcy can have for a successful applicant; a clearing of all their debts and a chance for a fresh start.
The U.S.?s health-related bankruptcies are up 50% from last year, as of late June 2009. This means that now, 60% of personal bankruptcies are health care related, whereas health care was responsible for 45% just a year ago. Proponents of socialized health care might note: the increase in bankruptcies is far less in countries with socialized healthcare. They can look no further than Canada?s state bankruptcy information statistic (57% to our 60%), which challenges the theory that improved health care system might solve our debt funk.
Consider this bankruptcy information inspiration: the father of the free world is frequently name-checked for his humanizing failures. Abraham Lincoln lost 8 elections to public office, failed in business, and had multiple nervous breakdowns. He also filed for bankruptcy twice and took 17 years to clear his name of debt. It?s ironic that a man with so many financial troubles should be put on the $5 bill. It also shows just how much an individual can recover from a bankruptcy.
Every time you check out your wallet or the latest bankruptcy information statistics, remember: bankruptcy is not a handout. It?s a decision to protect one?s financial future in the face of mounting, unpredictable economic fallout. Contact a Legal Helpers bankruptcy counselor for your bankruptcy information evaluation!
