By Lawrence Solum
Jean d'Aspremont (University of Leiden - Faculty of Law) has posted Transfer of Values Through International Law: The Hobbesian Lessons from Eastern European Legal Scholars on SSRN. Here is the abstract:

It is argued here that the conception of these scholars may help reconcile the transformation of society brought about by a number of international rules with the criticisms inspired by cultural relativism. Indeed, it is submitted here that Eastern European legal scholarship provides an avenue to bypass the imperialistic objection inherent to any value-oriented understanding of the legal order.
