BREAKING NEWS: OBAMA FIRST BLACK LEADER WHO IS NOT A ?VICTIM?

By Darren Hutchinson

ADVERTISEMENTS

Senator Clair McCaskill of Missouri, an Obama supporter, recently made a statement defending Obama against Wright-Gate.  During the statement she said a number of things, including that Wright’s comments were taken out of context.  But she also left the audience with the following gem: “[Obama], for the first time, I think, as a black leader in America, has come to the American people not as a victim, but rather as a leader” (emphasis added)  http://voices.kansascity.com/node/766.

Well, I have always wondered (well, actually argued more than wondered) what drew red-state whites to Obama.  Is it that until recently, he did not threaten them racially?  What exactly is the “change” sought by the wealthy white/black/white heterosexual male/ political coalition?  My guess: they do not share the same ideas about racial inequality and remedies.
