Cantor Colburn LLP, a nationally ranked full service intellectual property law firm that provides clients with outstanding technical expertise, legal know-how and responsive service, seeks an experienced chemical patent attorney to work either in the firm?s Hartford, CT office or from home in the Morristown, NJ area of a major client.

The Associate will be responsible for drafting and globally prosecuting chemical patent applications in fields such as food science, polymer science, and materials science, as well as preparing freedom to operate, invalidity, and infringement analyses.

The successful candidate must have an advanced degree in chemistry and will have drafted over 20 patent applications and prosecuted applications both in the U.S. and overseas. A minimum of 2-5 years of patent drafting experience in a law firm is required, as is registration in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Excellent academic credentials and strong writing and communication skills are required.
