Die Stiftung Alfred P. Sloan sagte der Wikimedia Foundation ? das ist die Nonprofit-Trägerorganisation der Wikipedia ? einen Förderbetrag von drei Millionen Dollar (1,93 Millionen Euro) zu, wie Projektleiter Jimmy Wales am Dienstag mitteilte.
Für die Sloan Foundation erklärte Doron Weber, die Wikipedia bedeute einen Quantensprung für die Sammlung und Organisierung von Wissen. Das Geld soll in drei Raten über die nächsten drei Jahre hinweg überwiesen werden. (…)
