: GamePolitics.comMicrosoft Estimates 5 Million Kinect Sales in Current Quarter
By james_fudge
Microsoft's president of Interactive Entertainment Business, Don Mattrick, said in a recent interview with Bloomberg that the company expects Kinect sales to top 5 million in this quarter. Microsoft increased its estimates for its motion-control system to 5 million units this quarter, up from a previous forecast of 3 million.
"[Retailers] are really defining Kinect as the must-have holiday item," said Mattrick. "It means it's going to be our biggest holiday ever."
The estimate is based on pre-orders, retail demand, and consumer interest.
