German drug maker Sandoz will recall 24 lots of their methotrexate injection vials due to the presence of glass flakes. The recall covers 50 mg and 250 mg vials of the drug. The company said, while unlikely, the use of the contaminated drugs could cause serious side effects. Methotrexate is used to treat severe cases of psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis, as well as leukemia, breast cancer and other cancers.
