A Kansas jury has awarded $35 million to the family of one of the women that died in a car accident on the freeway when a tractor-trailer rig slammed into the back of a stopped car in 2006. In the lawsuit, the plaintiffs argued the driver of the rig had falsified his driving logs to indicate he had taken adequate rest and was driving while fatigued. The company the rig driver worked for, CenTra Trucking Co., was negligent in failing to monitor his driving logs more closely, the suit alleged.
